New: St. Dominic's Feastday Newsletter Since our foundation in 1944, the Dominican Nuns of the Monastery of St. Jude have devoted themselves to the contemplative life in the tradition of Saint Dominic, especially through Eucharistic Adoration and the Rosary. As a community of cloistered Roman Catholic nuns, we are dedicated to serving God in the enclosure of our Monastery. Our way of life offers a powerful witness to the Church through our response to Jesus' command to leave all to follow Him. Throughout each day we gather for the solemn celebration of the Divine Office (Liturgy of the Hours) and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the source and summit of our lives. As Dominican Nuns, we proclaim the message of the Gospel through our contemplation, Eucharistic Adoration, devotion to Our Blessed Mother and her Rosary, silence, enclosure, study, communal life, penance, reparation and intercession.
Our Monastery chapel is open during daylight hours for those who wish to come and join us at Mass or the Divine Office. We also invite you to join us for the communal rosary and in our Eucharistic Adoration. The monastery prayer schedule can be found on the Daily Life page. We hope this site will help introduce you to the contemplative life of the Dominican Nuns of the Monastery of St. Jude. Website last updated: Tuesday, July 20, 2010. |
